I wonder if you know this: 45 minutes of art-making measurably reduces cortisol. Not because art is magic. Because your hands doing something lets your nervous system do something it's been trying to do all week - rest.
Space is limited. No cost to join.
Here's something I find fascinating:
Research shows that just 45 minutes of art-making measurably reduces cortisol levels - regardless of artistic skill or experience. Your hands making something gives your nervous system permission to downshift. It's not metaphor. It's biology.
But here's what I've learned from years of facilitation work: the art-making alone isn't the whole thing.
When you pair that calmer, more open state with guided dialogue - real conversation about what you're noticing, what you're carrying, what patterns you're seeing - something shifts. You start finding language for things you've been sensing but couldn't quite name. And once you can name it, you can respond to it. Not react. Respond.
That's what 2nd Sunday Studio is designed to do:
Art-making lowers your stress response (the science is clear on this)
This isn't self-care as escape. It's self-care as practice - the kind that actually makes you more effective at the things that matter to you.
This is for leaders, founders, managers, and people who hold a lot — and don't have enough places to put it down.
You don't need to:
You just need to be someone who's curious about what happens when you slow down, make something with your hands, and have a real conversation.
If you've been running on fumes and something in you says "yes, I need this" - trust that. Come find out.
Every second Sunday of the month, we gather online in a virtual studio space. It's informal. It's warm. And you don't need to be "an artist."
Here's how it flows:
🔵 Check-in (15 min)
We land together. How are you arriving? What's on your mind? No performance, just honesty.
🟡 Art-making (40 min)
Simple, guided art journaling for personal innovation using creative practice collage, drawing, free writing, painting and more. I may offer a prompt. You work with whatever materials you have. If you want my art journaling for personal innovation, we can explore that or something else. (Paper and a pen is plenty. Fancy supplies are fun but not required.)
🟠 Dialogue (20 min)
We share what we noticed. What came up in the making. What patterns we're seeing in our work, our organizations, our lives. This is facilitated conversation — I hold the space so you can think out loud.
🔴 Close (15 min)
We name one thing we're taking with us. That's it. No homework. No follow-up assignments. Just whatever landed.
Total time: ~90 minutes
Where: Online
When: 2nd Sunday of every month
What to bring: Something to make with (paper, pens, magazines for collage — whatever you've got)
With all that's good,
